Sensory Reset Spaces
Special Olympics Summer Games 2024
Pictured above and below, are photos of our partnership with the Special Olympics. Lyla’s House provided 2 days of sensory reset space for the 2024 Summer Games in Southern Idaho. Both indoor and outdoor capability.
Lyla's House extends its commitment to inclusivity by providing specialized sensory tents for adults at events. These individual tents are meticulously designed to offer a tranquil and comfortable retreat. Each tent is blacked out to minimize external visual stimuli and features a rocking chair to provide gentle, calming motion. Additionally, noise-canceling headphones, tablets with soothing music, low ambient lighting, and a fan for air circulation are included to enhance comfort and relaxation.
These sensory tents are essential as they cater to adults with sensory processing challenges, offering a private space to decompress and manage overstimulation. By creating such environments, Lyla's House ensures that neurodivergent adults can fully participate in events without the anxiety and discomfort caused by sensory overload. This initiative not only supports their well-being but also fosters a more inclusive and accommodating community.
