What is Lyla’s House?
Lyla's House is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with Autism and their families. Established nearly two years ago, it aims to create a safe and inclusive environment for those with autism and sensory sensitivities.
The organization focuses on providing essential resources, creating inclusive environments, and fostering a supportive community. It has formed meaningful partnerships with various groups, including Special Olympics Idaho, Caldwell Police Department and events such as the Southern Idaho Autism Walk 2024, and the Special Olympics State Summer Games.

Advocacy and Law Reform: We aim to influence policy changes to better support individuals with autism and disabilities.
Training for Law Enforcement and First Responders: By educating these professionals, we can ensure they are equipped to interact compassionately and effectively with those who have sensory challenges.
Business Training: Helping businesses understand how to work with autistic clientele and employees promotes inclusivity and enhances workplace environments.

Mobile Sensory Bus: Upgrading our event tents to a mobile bus with better air and noise control for improved accessibility at events.
Job Postings: Enhancing our website to include job postings for adults with autism, connecting them with local companies.
State-of-the-Art Autism School: Our ultimate goal is to establish a cutting-edge school that caters specifically to the needs of autistic individuals.

The Welton Family
Mike, Mary and their Daughter Dana.
Lyla’s House was Mike’s idea, Mary named it, and Dana pursued it.

Michael Welton is the co-founder of Lyla's House, created for his grandkids, and the co-owner of Welton Underground, a leading contractor business in underground pipeline and utility services. With over 30 years of industry experience, Michael founded Welton Underground in 2018, earning a reputation for integrity, efficiency, and safety.

Mary Welton is the Name Creator of Lyla's House, inspired by her grandkids. As Co-Owner of Welton Underground and the Owner of M'Powered Fitness, Mary is driven by a passion for health and wellness, and has created a supportive community at M'Powered Fitness, focusing on women's fitness and nutrition. With over 15 years of experience in the industry, she has built a space dedicated to empowerment, connection, and health.

Dana Batts is the co-founder and President of Lyla's House. As a veteran and former military police officer, Dana brings her dedication to service and community to her role. Inspired by her experience as a mother of two autistic children, she co-founded Lyla's House to provide essential resources and support for families. Dana is deeply committed to fostering environments where everyone can thrive, aiming to build a state-of-the-art school tailored to the unique needs of autistic students, offering innovative programs and resources to enhance their quality of life.

Dana is the Founder and President of Lyla's House. Under her leadership, Lyla's House has made significant strides in creating an inclusive community through, sensory-friendly environments at events, an awareness walk, programs, and partnerships. She formed partnerships with Special Olympics Idaho, Caldwell Police Department, Idaho Autism Society, and the Special Olympics State Summer Games. Dana is committed to expanding the reach and impact of Lyla's House, with ambitious plans that include advocacy and law reform, training for law enforcement and first responders, and the development of a state-of-the-art autism school.

As a seasoned consultant and coach, Chris plays a vital role in ensuring the organization's operations run smoothly, contributing her skills in administration and strategic planning to enhance the impact and reach of Lyla's House.

She owns and operates a Nutrishop in South Carolina, where she manages budgeting, cash flow, and strategic planning. Her previous experience as a Branch Administrator at Finance of America Mortgage, with a focus on financial oversight and administrative duties, adds depth to her role. Dana’s expertise in finance, leadership, and operational efficiency supports the financial health and sustainability of Lyla’s House.
